This is where it gets tricky. As of now in 2025, yes—you do need a permit to have a ceremony and elope at Garden of the Gods.
- A Special Use Permit is required for wedding ceremonies
- Ceremonies are limited to 10 people total (including vendors)
- Decorations, arches, chairs, and amplified sound are not allowed
- You must stay in designated ceremony areas
Tip: Apply for your permit early. Popular dates—especially in summer and fall fill quickly.
You can have your ceremony at the courthouse then do portraits at the park without a permit. If you are outside of the immediate park you can do your ceremony there.
