GOLDEN HOUR & FOOTHILL ADVENTURES: CHRIS & KATE AT HORSETOOTH FALLS
There’s something truly magical about photographing couples in the foothills of Fort Collins, especially when the session spans from golden hour into the soft evening glow. Chris and Kate’s session at Horsetooth Falls was exactly that—a perfect mix of adventure, romance, and natural beauty.
We had a long session, giving us plenty of time to explore the trails, capture playful moments, and let the couple’s personalities shine. As the sun began to set, the golden hour light bathed the landscape in warmth, highlighting their connection and creating the kind of cinematic, romantic imagery that makes outdoor sessions so special.
The couple’s love for adventure and each other was evident in every step of the session. From quiet, intimate moments to laughter-filled candid shots, we captured a range of emotions that truly told their story. One of my favorite details of the day was Raven’s stunning blue ring, which reflected the sky and mountains in the most magical way, adding a personal and meaningful touch to the images.
Throughout the day, the shifting light of the mountains created magical photo opportunities—from soft, diffused morning light to the glowing, golden tones as the sun began to dip behind the peaks. Every frame highlighted not just the scenery, but the couple’s genuine connection and adventurous spirits.
Chris and Kate’s session at Horsetooth Falls was a wonderful reminder of why I love outdoor photography: the combination of breathtaking landscapes, dynamic light, and authentic connection results in memories that last a lifetime.
