Capturing Love Amid the Peaks: Addison & Carson’s Engagement Session at Rocky Mountain National Park
There’s something magical about photographing couples in the mountains—the way the landscape seems to mirror emotions, the way light dances across the peaks, and the way adventurous spirits elevate every shot. Recently, I had the pleasure of working with Addison and Carson for their engagement session at Rocky Mountain National Park, and it was nothing short of breathtaking.
We explored two distinct locations within the park during their hour-and-a-half session, diving headfirst into my largest couples package. The first half of our shoot had a more editorial, posed vibe. Using the direct sunlight as a tool, we captured sharp, luminous images that highlighted the couple’s connection while embracing the drama and depth of the natural light. Addison and Carson were total pros, open to every idea and pose, making the creative process seamless.
For the second location, we timed it perfectly with golden hour into blue hour, giving us that soft, glowing light that photographers dream of. The couple’s brown and denim outfits played beautifully against the fall foliage, perfectly complementing the autumnal tones of the park. These shots had a more adventurous, carefree energy, allowing Addison and Carson’s personalities to shine through against the epic backdrop of the Rockies.
What made this session so special was their willingness to embrace every pose and idea, whether it was editorial and dramatic or relaxed and natural. Their love and connection translated effortlessly through the lens, creating images that are not just photos, but timeless memories.
